Artist: Alison Allcock

Title: Tide and Time

Year: 2021

Media: performance

With this work Alison invites you to consider the unstoppable march of time, the forces of the natural world, and our fragile existence within it.

Our tidal zone is a place to reflect on the proverb Time and tide wait for no man (or woman), urging us to seize the moment and reminding us that if we miss the tide an opportunity is lost.

We can’t turn back the tide but we can manage human impact on climate before rising sea levels wash away all marks of human existence. The time for procrastination and political interest is over.
