DIRECTORS NOTE
We respectfully acknowledge the Arakwal People of the Bundjalung Nation who hold native title and are the traditional custodians of all lands and waters in Brunswick Heads, including all the foreshore parks where the Brunswick Nature Sculpture Walk is held.
Arakwal People have lived in this coastal landscape for at least 22,000 years and are part of the oldest living culture on earth. We recognize their continuing connection to land, water and culture.
We pay our respects to elders both past, present and emerging and would like to extend this respect to the Midjungbal people of the Bundjalung Nation to the north and the Widjabal people of the Bundjalung Nation to the west.
Welcome to the exhibition, we proudly present Our third, 'Brunswick Nature Sculpture Walk'
What a roller coaster of a ride this year has been so far .....
As we transition through the uncertainty, we look to forms of stability..... that which is in the land and people that hold us.
Support the 2021 Artists this year ONLINE, read about their Art practice and why they are so passionate about what they do.
The 'Brunswick Nature Sculpture Walk' has attracted 50 artists from all around Australia and showcases a diverse range of sculptors, installation artists, performers and sound artists ranging from the well established to the new and emerging. There works reflect upon the landscape our connection to it through its flora and fauna.
This year we have been fortunate to receive funding to help establish a Cultural Walk in Brunswick Heads with Arakwal Bungalung woman Delta Kay.
We have also collaborated with Brunswick Valley Land Care and Byron Shire Council to replace Native Plants in South Beach Park.
I would like to warmly thank all the amazing Artists, the B.N.S.W team and judges for trusting in me to find a way to continue to promote ART NATURE and COMMUNITY.
Thank you also to the invaluable support of Byron Shire Council, Create N.S.W and our generous supporters and volunteers.
ENJOY
