“They paved paradise, put up a parking lot
They took all the trees put’ em in a tree museum
And they charged the people a dollar an’a half just to seem.
Don’t it always seem to go
That you don’t know what you’ve got till its gone”
Joni Mitchel
Every tree has its own unique history and spirit.
These pieces are a homage to all the lost trees in the world.

Kirsten Ingemar studied textiles in her native Denmark, before emigrating. She has worked as a textile artist in Australia for over 30 years and has explored a large range of surface dyeing techniques.  She has also worked as an art educator in many settings in Australia and overseas.
Her work has always incorporated a variety of different dyeing techniques, collage and stitching but specialising in botanical printing & plant dyeing. Often working in close contact with the natural elements and a sense of place, "My work feels very much like setting the scene for a mystery to unfold.”
