Over several decades I have developed a visual vocabulary that allows me expression across a variety of media and subject areas. Most of them are landscape and environment related. I have an interest in materials including objet trouve which I come across in daily life with ever an eye open for an interesting piece of debris; and have also studied intensely the production of work in ceramic, and some metals. All of this culminates in the works I present in Brunswick Nature Sculpture Walk; they are largely the result of surprising combination of collected pieces that have been stored, or the completion of unfinished works assembled with spontaneous bursts of inspiration ….. which is often how I work, fully trusting the intuitive field of imagination and my own eventual realisation of projects commenced sometimes years before. It could be categorised as Assemblage. It’s an unacademic approach despite my MA in Visual Art from SCU Lismore. Insta: studiosuvira Web: suviramcdonald.com
