Bloom, crafted by Year 6 children at Cape Byron Steiner School under direction of artist Jacqui Doran, embodies the essence of meeting and community. It reflects the spreading of joy and growth through exploration and play. Each element of the sculpture represents our journey of finding curiosity and embracing the process of becoming. Through this artistic expression, we invite viewers to develop a sense of wonder and experience the playful expansion of curiosity within and beyond their bounds.


Individual pieces of the Bloom installation may be purchased for $90 each. This work is available to purchase as an entire installation (total of 20 pieces) for $1800. Please contact us if you would like to purchase or commission an entire installation.

Year 6 children at Shearwater Mullumbimby Steiner School have collaborated and individually engaged in diverse artistic endeavours throughout their schooling. Guided by natural curiosity and the rhythms of the natural world, they have explored various mediums including watercolour painting, woodwork, clay, printmaking and sewing. Their projects are not just exercises in creativity but journeys of discovery, where each child  brings their unique perspective to collectively create meaningful works. Their art reflects a deep connection to nature and a playful yet profound exploration of the materials and themes they encounter.
We wish to acknowledge and pay respect to the Arakwal people of the Bundjalung Nation,
the traditional custodians of the land​ on which we meet and work.​​
