MASTERCLASS 1 : LIMPET WEAVING NICOLE DE MESTRE
SUNDAY OCTOBER 6TH 2024
10am -1pm (3hrs) COST - $90 Limited 20 Places Join Nicole for a three hour workshop to discover the basics of stitching coiled baskets and make a miniature basket inspired by limpet forms. With the addition of some basic hardware (supplied), your basket can be transformed into a brooch, fridge magnet, earrings or a key ring. And you will leave with the skills to create larger works in the future. Beware, as basket making is addictive! Nicole creates an eclectic range of artistic works, all inspired by environmental concerns and linked through the use of recycled materials and found objects. Traditionally constructed from natural materials, instead you will create a basket which also incorporates recycled and found materials-wire, rope, fabric, baling twine, whipper sniper cord, fruit nets all destined for landfill. Materials supplied, but bring along a bag of your own if you feel inclined. Please bring scissors and a large needle if possible. |
